Famous Men of Rome - Now with full color illustrations!
The Famous Men of Rome has been completely revised with full color illustrations. Memoria Press commissioned 30 oil paintings of the significant events in the Famous Men of Rome and included them in this beautiful printing.

The Romans were history's great men of action, making the study of Rome ideal for beginners of all ages, but especially for younger students, who are fascinated by the abundant action and drama of Roman history. In addition, an understanding of modern political history is impossible without a thorough understanding of Rome.

There are thirty stories covering the history of Rome from its founding under Romulus to the last emperor in the West. Your children will see the rise and fall of a great civilization through the lives of Horatius, Camillus, Caesar, Cicero, Marcus Aurelius, and many other larger-than-life figures. Rome is the model civilization, the mastery of which provides a foundation for all other history study.

In Memoria Press' Famous Men of Rome, we have added a Glossary of People and Places, Full Color Illustrations, and maps of Rome, Italy, and the Roman Empire. (160 pages)

Famous Men of Rome Teacher and Student Guides
We now offer a year-long workbook course that comprehensively covers the Famous Men of Rome. Each of the thirty workbook lessons includes famous quotes, a drill of key people and places, ten vocabulary words, 5-10 comprehension questions per lesson, and an activities section that includes map work, timelines, discussion questions, and art projects. The program also comes with 8 pages of supplements, including maps of ancient and modern Europe, a “Who Said That?” worksheet, and drawing pages.

Our FMR Teacher Guide is a replica of the student guide with overlaid answers, so you don't have to fumble between an answer key and a separate student book.

"We use the Famous Men of Rome as well, and my kids love it. The stories are quite gripping!"

Reviews

"I love to find biographies and stories that feature remarkable men in history. Famous Men of Rome was a great pick for me, as it takes a look at many of the famous, and infamous men that shaped the Roman world. The teacher and student guides are invaluable, offering a very comprehensive picture of historic Rome."
- Kathy Davis, Homeschool Buzz

"The Latina Christiana books and the Famous Men of Rome books are unbelievably well put together. With these two sets of books, Memoria Press has combined history (which I love) with Latin (which I am dying to know more of). The Famous Men of Rome books are fabulous."
- Amanda, California

Frequently Asked Questions
  • What is the difference between the full FMR Study Guide above and the short, free FMR guide in the Latina Christiana Teacher Manuals?
    • The guide in the Latina Christiana Teacher Manual is a short, 12 page guide with simple questions and two maps, so that you can easily add a little Roman history to your Latin studies.
The full FMR Guide above contains weekly lessons with a variety of exercises focusing on the characters and stories throughout the FMR. These comprehensive guides will serve as the backbone of your Roman history studies using the Famous Men of Rome.
  • Can I just get a key instead of the Teacher Manual with Key?
    • We don't produce an independent answer key. As teachers, we love to have a copy of the student book with the answers written right in the text. Unfortunately, this costs a little more to produce, but it is a tremendous benefit in teaching the course.
  • What is the difference between the new Memoria Press Famous Men of Rome and the old Greenleaf edition?
    • In the Memoria Press Famous Men of Rome, we also have added dozens of Full Color Illustrations, a Glossary of People and Places, and New Maps of Rome, Italy, and the Roman Empire. The page numbers have also changed slightly.
